This half term our topic is Marvelous Me. We will discuss our likes and dislikes and getting to know our peers in our class. We will look at and talk about different emotions that we might feel and why we might feel those emotions. We will discuss different members of our family and people that are special to us. We will look at our different body parts, as well as looking at our skeleton and why this is important. Then we will link this learning on our body parts to learning about our five senses and how our body will change over time as we get older. Finally we will learn about different things we can do to help keep our bodies healthy.
This half term we will be learning about different celebrations that are celebrated at differen't times of the year. We will begin by looking at bonfire night, learning about the Gunpowder plot and creating firework artwork. Next we will focus on Rememberance Day, looking at the importance of the day, to remember soliders who have fought in wars to keep us safe. We will also look at Birthdays, discussing how we have previously celebrated our birthdays. After this, out topic will take an R.E focus. We will learn about Hinduism and the celebration of Diwali, the festival of light. Looking at the story of Rama and Sita and how Hindus might celebrate Diwali. Finally, we will focus on Chrisitianity and learn about the Nativity story and how Christians might celebrate at Christmas time. Before sharing how our families celebrate Christmas and things we do at Christmas time.
