This week we have looked at:
oy - Joy of a toy
ir- girl with a curl
ew- stew and a brew
ue- I feel blue
We then looked at all the 'ew' alternative graphemes we knew - oo, ew, ue, o
Looked at words such as who, blue, phew, flew, brew, blew, few, boo. We sorted them into their appropriate section.

We have started phase 5 this week.

This week we have looked at:
ay - ay ay play all day (crayon book). We compared the digraph to the 'ai' ai ai snail trail from phase 3 and how it is represented in different words.
ou- Keep out! Bears about! We compared the digraph to the ow from phase 3 - Miaow said the cow. We also looked at the spelling of 'ough' in words like plough and how it comes at the end of words. This sound is called a tetragraph where 4 letters make 1 sound.
i-e- Yikes, ride my bike (The Jolly Postman). We compared the split digraph to the trigraph 'igh' igh igh my pants are tight, from phase 3.
ea - Eat your Peas. We compared the digraph to the sound 'ee' from phase 3, ee ee what can I see.
