Monday 11th May
Today we have altered the story of the Gruffalo.
Our new characters:
Snake is still the snake, and our story is now based under the sea instead of a forest.
We have been looking at fiction and non-fiction text.
We have looked for features of an information book.
See if you can spot these features:
1. Contents page
3. Glossary (if it has one)
7. Labels (usually near the pictures)
Then think about these questions: Why is an index page so important? What is its role?
If I had a book about flowers and plants and I wanted to find out more about flowers which are pink. Which part of the book would help me find my information?
I would usually go straight to the back of the book and find p for pink. Using the index of the book.
