On Friday 24th June we celebrated Camo Day. This is a national event held in primary schools to raise awareness and funds for the military charity SSAFA (The Soldier's, Sailor's and Airmens' Families Association). We were so pleased that Colonel Sue was able to join us again and that Master Air Crew W.O. Angie Hemlin from RAF Digby led our collective worship. The choir also sang beautifully and it made a lovely start to a fun filled day.
We welcomed the Combined Cadet Force from LSST to the school. They planned a series of military themed activities for the children including tent building, drill, parachute games and blindfold trials. The weather kept fine and the children (and adults) had a really enjoyable and informative day.
I am really pleased to report that we collected donations well in excess of £100 which have been forwarded to SSAFA.
