Camo Day 2017
On Friday 23rd June, as part of Armed Forces Week, we held Camo Day to celebrate the work that SSAFA do to support our military personnel and their families. The day started with a very informative assembly where we were treated to an insight into the work of Sarah Bannon from RAF Digby. Sarah is an engineer and brought along a variety of high tech bugging devices that she explained and demonstrated.
Members of the Combined Cadet Force from LSST then led the children in a variety of military themed activities throughout the day including drill, team building and parachute games and the weather was relatively kind to us with just a light shower!
It was a lovely day thanks to the efforts of so many people: all the Cadets and their staff, to our staff for their support (with special thanks to Mrs Webb and her team for providing lunch for the cadets and Mrs Harrison for providing their break time juice and biscuits!). We are also very grateful to our visitors Sarah Bannon, Angie Hemlin and Sue and Gavin Hellard for their invaluable input to the day and their continued support of our School.
We raised £148.40! This money will be sent to our local branch of SSAFA for their work in our community.
